On Tuesday I had originally sat down to type up a completely different blog post for you guys, but then I got an email from my trip adviser about some changes to my upcoming trip. My original route for this spring has been canceled because right now many people aren’t allowed into Asia and even if they got in we don’t know if we would be able to leave to come back home. Which means I won’t be able to go to South Asia and Nepal as I had originally planned on. But World Race does have a couple of other trips that will still be launching as planned this January. So after a lot of prayer, I decided to switch to their South America trip that will be leaving this January.

On this trip I will be going to Ecuador, and if the countries are open and we can safely cross the borders, we may also be able to go to Peru and Columbia. If they aren’t open then my entire trip will be in Ecuador. The ministry focuses on this trip are a little different than my other trip. They are youth ministry, feeding programs, teaching English, kids ministry, special needs ministry, homeless ministry, drug rehabilitation, and church outreach, but some of that may change when we get there and find out what we are allowed to do with covid. I’m learning to be flexible and to continue to trust God to lead every step of the way.

On another note, fundraising has been awesome! God has really been providing and right now I am a little over 60% funded for this trip and have been able to meet most of the goals that World Race set for us to meet to be fully funded before we leave in January, months ahead of the intended date. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me through prayer and financial gifts. I know that there have been a lot of twists and turns throughout this journey and I am so thankful to have amazing brothers and sisters in Christ standing by my side. Please continue to support me with prayer and the rest of my financial needs!

Talk to you guys soon!
