Fundraising

Fundraising right now has been so interesting. World Race provided us with some packets about how to fundraise and explained that fundraising is about God providing the funds not asking people to give you money. Right now funds have been pouring in and I already have over 50% of the funds that I need to raise to go on the race which is amazing. God has truly been providing the money that I need to be able to go.

 

But right now my team and the other fall teams aren’t a hundred percent sure that we will all be launching in the fall. From what I have heard, a lot of the borders of the countries that we would be going to are still closed because of COVID and we don’t know when they will open, which makes it really difficult for the World Race leaders to know if we should launch like planned and if we can launch so that the teams and the locals are safe from getting sick. We have been told that we will know if we will be launching by July 1 but it has made it harder for me to really fundraise because I don’t know if we will be launching, if my trip gets canceled and I move to one of their semester trips in the Spring and which one, or if I end up doing something entirely different. But the biggest thing is that through all of this God is still providing me funds to go on a mission trip for Him somewhere.

 

Fundraising right now has been an awesome test in my faith. Even though it has been a bit harder recently not knowing if we will launch like planned, I am still fundraising and still praying for this trip and my teammates. We may launch in the fall and we may not, but that doesn’t mean that we have to give up on following where God has called us. This mission trip may not launch as we had planned, but God has been teaching me so many important lessons through this that has been strengthening my faith and drawing me closer to Him each day. I don’t know what is going to happen but I do know that God has a plan for my life and I am so excited to follow where He leads me.
